Flags were once crafted from natural fibers. Think cotton and wool. By the mid-20th century, our society turned to synthetics — new technology that came mass produced. The lower price turned out to have a high cost. Fifty years later, this innovation leaves a legacy of microplastics polluting our planet.

Our Solution to Microplastics
Microplastics harm ecosystems and show up in our bodies. Currently the world is learning about the consequences: inflammation, oxidative stress, DNA damage, and organ dysfunction in animals and likely in humans as well. Polyester flags, even when made from recycled PET, are part of this problem, with over 150 million flags purchased in the US alone.
